SMS Policy
Terms for employee system-status text alerts.
Last Updated: July 20, 2026 | Effective Date: July 20, 2026
Teck Shield LLC ("Teck Shield," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates an internal SMS alerting program for employees and authorized on-call staff. This SMS Policy describes the program, how consent works, what messages you may receive, and how to get help or opt out.
This page is provided to support A2P 10DLC compliance for our employee alerting campaign. It applies only to texts we send for operational system-status alerts. It does not cover marketing SMS. Our general privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
On This Page
1. Program Overview
Teck Shield's SMS alerting application notifies enrolled employees when a monitored system, service, or infrastructure component is down, degraded, or otherwise requires attention. Alerts may request an acknowledgment ("ACK") so on-call and operations teams can confirm the message was received and that response is underway.
Messages are transactional and operational. They are not advertising or promotional messages.
2. Who Receives Messages
Messages are sent only to current Teck Shield employees and authorized contractors who:
- Have a business need to receive system-status or on-call alerts
- Have provided a mobile phone number for this purpose
- Have consented to receive SMS alerts as part of their role or enrollment in the alerting program
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers for marketing or promotional use. This program is not used to send marketing texts to the public.
3. Message Types and Content
You may receive messages such as:
- System or service outage / incident alerts
- Degradation or recovery notices
- Requests to acknowledge (ACK) an alert
- Escalation reminders if an alert remains unacknowledged
- On-call or schedule-related operational notices tied to alerting
- Program enrollment, help, and opt-out confirmations
Example: [Teck Shield] ALERT: VPN gateway unreachable. Reply ACK to acknowledge. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
4. Consent / How You Opt In
Participation is limited to employees and authorized staff who opt in by one or more of the following:
- Providing a mobile number during hiring, onboarding, or HR / IT systems enrollment for alerting
- Enrolling through an internal admin portal, form, or written acknowledgment that discloses SMS alert use
- Texting a designated keyword (if provided by IT) to the program number to confirm enrollment
Consent is not a condition of purchasing goods or services. For employees, providing a number for operational alerts may be required for certain on-call or operations roles as a condition of job duties; marketing consent is never required.
By enrolling, you agree to receive recurring automated informational text messages from Teck Shield at the mobile number you provide regarding system status and related operational alerts.
5. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. You may receive few or no messages when systems are stable, and multiple messages during an active incident, including acknowledgment reminders and recovery updates. Typical volume depends on your role, on-call rotation, and the number of monitored systems.
6. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Teck Shield does not charge a fee for sending or receiving these texts, but your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan.
7. How to Opt Out
You can cancel SMS alerts at any time by replying STOP to any message from the program. After you send STOP, we will send a confirmation and you will no longer receive alert texts from that program unless you re-enroll.
You may also request removal by contacting IT or HR, or by emailing [email protected].
Supported opt-out keywords include: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT.

9. Privacy
We use mobile numbers and related alert metadata (for example, delivery status and acknowledgments) solely to operate the employee alerting program, maintain on-call coverage, and improve reliability.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell mobile phone numbers.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. For more detail on how Teck Shield handles personal information, see our Privacy Policy. This SMS Policy is available at https://teckshield.com/sms-policy/.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this SMS Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date on this page and post the revised policy at https://teckshield.com/sms-policy/. Continued enrollment in the program after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms, except where additional consent is required by law.
